Conforms to the EU standards EN50081-1 (97) and EN50082-1 (97) The moisture meter 590 determines the humidity content of a material according to the resistance principle: the two measuring pins are pressed into the material and electrical current is conducted through it. With increasing water content, resistance reduces and the conductivity of the material increases. If the material has a high resistance, the humidity content is low, if the material has a low resistance, the humidity content is high. The moisture meter measures the humidity permeation of the material or surface humidity and also determines the dry and humid areas. This measuring device is used for determining moisture levels in timber and soft building materials such as gypsum or plaster.
