Description
1 Piece Perth Sand Penetrometer (PSP)
The Perth Sand Penetrometer (PSP) is a lightweight, portable field instrument designed to quickly assess the strength and compaction of sandy or granular soils. Ideal for geotechnical investigations and construction quality control, the PSP operates using a standard drop weight that drives a cone into the ground, allowing users to record blow counts per penetration depth. The results can be used to estimate relative soil density, bearing capacity, or California Bearing Ratio (CBR) in situ.
Commonly used in: roadworks, pipeline routes, backfill testing, and site investigations on reclaimed or loose sandy ground.
Key Features:
- Durable and easy to use in field conditions
- Provides rapid on-site soil strength assessment
- Blow count readings correlated to CBR values
- Suitable for non-cohesive soils, especially sands
- Drop weight: 9 kg | Drop height: 510 mm | Cone diameter: 20 mm
Specifications
- Size (LxWxH): 210.00 cm x 32.00 cm x 20.00 cm
